Our Story

How it all started...

Candice and I have been involved in ministry for many years. Our hearts have always been broken for those who have a negative outlook on Jesus because of something they experienced in a church. So we began praying about how God could use us to do ministry differently. We never expected what God was going to do in answering those prayers.

One day on a long drive, as I listened to the Bible, God spoke to me in a profound and clear way. For the first time ever I heard 2 Timothy 2:2 as a call to action. Here was Paul at the end of his life, more concerned with future generations than his own well-being. I thought: "what if churches focused more on preparing people, and less on branding"? From this drive 4TH GEN was born with a focus on teaching others to teach others. We're still figuring out exactly what that looks like, but we're enjoying the journey while we do.

Expanding the vision...

While our first year was heavily focused on our internal, spiritual growth, we look forward to expanding what God has called us to within the communities we are in. We want to see our neighborhoods find the transformative power of Jesus' grace. We want to send missionaries into the hardest to reach fields. We want to raise up leaders who will usher in a new era of radical love for the lost and unwavering devotion to who Christ has called us to be.

Where we are headed...

We reject the notion that only big churches can have a big impact. We reject the idea that only degreed Christian workers are truly equipped to labor for God's kingdom. We look forward to God using extremely ordinary people to do extraordinary things. We see in the world hatred, discord, and volatility. We know that when it is darkest, God calls, prepares, and sends messengers into the darkness. We hope and pray that 4TH GEN would play even the tiniest role in God's work in this current dark age.
