Someone once said the church in America is carried on the backs of praying wives. I think this is a fitting image of what many churches see; women who are engaged and supportive, and men who live in the fringes. We want to change how men engage with the Word, with prayer, and with each other. We do this by gathering men to discuss real problems and then allow scripture to be the guide to those problems. There is a heavy need to adjust the expectations on men in the church. The expectation is not that every man becomes a "David", but rather that we become a Acts 11:20 kind of guy. These guys didn't need some reward, they didn't need recognition. They just needed to know what they were being called to, and do it faithfully.
